The first step in making a needle felted dog is to create the basic shape of the pet's body. Cut the wool into long strands. Roll each one in your hand and secure the end where the whisker attaches to the face. This will be the body of the dog. After this, use a felting needle to punch the fibers into the desired shape. Next, you can attach the head and the eyes.
To make the head and the body of the dog, fold the ears down. Next, make the base of the dog's body using loose wool. Then, lay the black coarse wool over the dog's head. You'll need to pull the ochre fibres through the black patches to create the fluffy appearance. Repeat this step for the body of the dog. Once you've finished with the head, you can needle felt the tail and the tops of the legs.
Once the body is finished, the head is the next step. Insert the needle into the neck area and poke it repeatedly to create the head and tail. After creating these shapes, you'll need to attach the tail. You can continue with the body by securing the neck with glue and then attaching it to the body. The last step is to add the head and the body by using coloured wool.
Next, you'll want to create the dog's legs. Then, place the ears on the legs. If you're making a dog with a tail, you can place loose wool on the base of the leg. Then, you can begin with the body by stitching the ochre fibres through the black patches. You'll need a crease at the base of the leg where the foot will be. After this step, the legs should be shaped into a 'L' shape and be the same size.
If you're making a dog with a tail, you'll need a small black roll of fibers for the tail. White fibers are better for photographing. If you're making a dog with long tail, the fibers may interfere with joining the tail to the body. When the body is finished, you'll need to complete the rest of the body. Afterward, you'll attach the tail.
The body part of the dog is the most important part. You'll need to fold the ears down to make room for the curved tail. Once the legs are complete, you can move on to making the paws and feet. Ensure the head is the same size as the body. A good idea is to stitch around the entire head. Then, attach the tail with a wire. And the legs should be the same size.
Once the body is finished, you can continue with the head. You'll need a needle to insert the tail. The longer coat fibers should be felted at the roots to make a dog's coat look more realistic. After finishing the body, you'll need to make the head and neck. Then, you'll need to attach the head. And last but not least, the tail.
The head and tail are attached with the help of needles. During needlefelting, the body should be shaped properly with the help of a felting needle. The ears and tail must match the color of the body. The body should be the same size as the head. The legs should also be the same size. The nose should be the same color as the body. You'll need a larger dog for the chest.
Now you need to make the body. After the body is complete, attach the head and the tail. After finishing the head, you'll need to attach the tail. You can then proceed with the rest of the dog's body. Once you've finished with the head and the neck, you can begin working on the details of the dog. You can create the legs and the ears as well as the nose, and stitch the legs together.
